Brooks & Freund at Harry Chapin Food Bank on Friday, May 6, 2016.

Once again, Brooks & Freund volunteers gathered at Harry Chapin Food Bank in Fort Myers to help fight hunger in SWFL. The Brooks & Freund team partnered with North Star Painting and together, the group of 30 volunteers processed 11,616 pounds of produce, equivalent to 9,680 meals to feed those in need in Charlotte, Collier, Hendry, Glades, and Lee counties. Brooks & Freund continues to promote community involvement within its organization and with its business partners to support causes like the Harry Chapin Food Bank.

On behalf of the 30,000 people who will benefit monthly from your generosity, most especially the 12,000 children who are touched by this support, I want to personally thank you for choosing to fight hunger by volunteering with us!

Your volunteering resulted in processing 11,616 pounds of produce, equivalent to 9,680 meals, for our neighbors in need in Charlotte, Collier, Hendry, Glades, and Lee counties.

With your help, we are able to develop innovative and creative ways to feed our region’s at-risk families through our 150 partner agencies by providing them with fresh, nutritious food to help feed children, working-poor families, seniors and others. In fiscal year 2014-2015, the Harry Chapin Food Bank distributed 18.4 million pounds of food —the equivalent of 15.3 million meals. Volunteers are critical to the food bank’s ability to help our neighbors in need. Your 30 volunteers contributed three hours of their time.

Collectively, they provided 90 volunteer hours, equivalent of more than $2,120. Their support is a contributing factor to our ability to fight hunger in Southwest Florida.

I hope you had a wonderful volunteer experience.

All of us at Harry Chapin Food Bank look forward to having Brooks and Freund back to volunteer in the future.

Thank you,

Tanya Phillips
