Twenty volunteers from the Brooks & Freund team worked together on July 17th during a day of giving back to our community. We are always willing to help out of a spirit of gratitude. Below is a copy of a letter from Tanya Phillips that perfectly captures our experience and love for our community.
On behalf of the 30,000 people who will benefit monthly from your generosity, most especially the 12,000 children who are touched by this support, I want to personally thank you for choosing to fight hunger by volunteering with us!
Your volunteering resulted in processing 7,684 pounds of produce, equivalent to 6,403 meals, for our neighbors in need in Charlotte, Collier, Hendry, Glades, and Lee counties.
With your help, we are able to develop innovative and creative ways to feed our region’s at-risk families through our 150 partner agencies, providing them with the food they need to serve those who turn to them for help. In 2014 Harry Chapin Food Bank distributed 19.6 million pounds of food —the equivalent of 16.3 million meals. Your generous donation is a contributing factor to our success in fighting hunger in Southwest Florida. I have attached your group photos. It was a pleasure to meet everyone. I hope you had a wonderful volunteer experience. All of us at Harry Chapin Food Bank look forward to having Brooks and Freund back to volunteer in the future. Thank you,
