Brooks & Freund Honored with Two Summit Awards

FORT MYERS, Fla. (Oct. 10, 2007) – Brooks & Freund, a commercial and residential construction firm serving Southwest Florida, received two awards from the Lee Building Industry Association (BIA) at the second annual Summit Awards event. The company was honored with Commercial Contractors Project Awards for best industrial/metal building and best mid-rise project.

For Best Industrial/Metal Building Project, Brooks & Freund received a Summit Award for the Unity General Distributors project, a cabinet and furniture products distribution center located off Metro Parkway in Fort Myers. The two-story front half is used for office space, while the remainder of the building is one story with a vaulted ceiling and is used for warehouse space. The project was completed in six months.

Brooks & Freund also received a Summit Award for Best Mid-Rise Project for construction of the single-family casita homes and townhomes in Paseo, a 444-acre gated community located in Fort Myers. Brooks & Freund is building 123 buildings total in the Paseo community. All of the town homes and casitas feature tile roofs and are constructed with impact glass windows and poured concrete construction.

Created by the Commercial Contractors Council of the BIA, the Summit Awards pay tribute to BIA members who have obtained an outstanding level of success and professionalism in the commercial construction industry during 2006.
