Don Brooks – Principal
As principal of Brooks & Freund, Don Brooks is responsible for everything from administration and staff management to bidding, negotiating and contractual agreements. With more than 30 years of experience in the construction industry, Don brings extensive knowledge and skill to the company. His approachable personality and understanding of the field allows him to communicate effectively with team members and clients. He began his career working in various construction-related trades, including surveying, carpentry, concrete and subcontracting, which then led him to start his own company, Brooks, Inc. As president, Don’s involvement included project management and overseeing the day-to-day operations. As a Construction Class A Certified Contractor, he is experienced in all phases of construction and construction management from pre-design to final completion.
Richard Freund – Principal
Richard’s no-nonsense personality works well with the industry’s fast pace schedule to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget. After graduating from the University of Florida with a degree in construction management, Richard served as an estimator/project manager for a construction company in Miami. After relocating to Southwest Florida, he formed F & D Construction, Inc. where, as president, he was responsible for the day-to-day operations, including administration, project staffing and all phases of project management. Richard now brings more than 20 years of experience in construction management to Brooks & Freund. Like Don, Richard is a Construction Class A Certified Contractor and is experienced in all phases of construction and construction management.
